I remember watching a colleague move through her work with ease and power. She was sharp, bold, fully herself. She lit up rooms with humor, spoke her truth without hesitation, and never shrank her quirks. That kind of presence woke something up in me. I realized I was tired. Tired of shrinking. Tired of the imposter syndrome that made me second-guess what I knew was true.

I didn’t want to keep trading authenticity for acceptance. I wanted to lead, create, and build without leaving parts of myself behind.

What I’ve learned is this. Hiding who you are drains your strength. The energy we waste on shrinking ourselves could be used to build legacies, shift systems, and create real movement.
